What is the measure of life? Many standards have measured success, but throughout history people who achieve the most extraordinary feats offer the following advice: No matter what, never give up! And so, it seems, those who have endured the greatest hardships and challenges rise from the ashes. Though they are often alone and without resource and comfort, they rise and meet the challenge, becoming more than they ever would have been without the journey. Terry Hill is, in my opinion, such an individual. He has lived for most of his life in the war zone, yet through self-discipline, study, and commitment, he has grown into a man of integrity, respect, and sincere empathy.
Through his writing he has healed the wounds of the past. It has provided cathartic release and healing for what was, for years, the life of a crack addict. But his primary purpose and motivation has always been to serve as a lesson for those who would follow him. It is his song.
